Home / Awards & medals / Young Scientist Outstanding Poster Paper (YSOPP) Awards / 2010 / Joachim Stock
Heike Rauer. His research interest focuses on the analysis of complex chemical reaction networks in terrestrial planetary atmospheres. The poster presented at the EGU General Assembly 2010 displayed the application of a unique algorithm of identifying and quantifying chemical pathways to a photochemical model of the Martian atmosphere.
Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student Poster (OSP) Awards / 2012 / Célia Sapart
The EGU 2012 poster “Natural and Anthropogenic variations in methane sources over the last 2 millennia” presented high-resolution carbon isotope of methane data from Greenland ice cores over the last 2,000 years. Those data, together with atmospheric model results, allowed reconstructing how the different types of methane sources behaved in the past.

3 April 2020 At 3:30 pm on Monday 6 April, the European Geosciences Union ( EGU ) will offer a webinar about EGU 2020: Sharing Geoscience Online , the new series of virtual activities that will be held from 4-8 May in place of the physical General Assembly in Vienna. These activities will help foster scientific communication and research by enabling abstract authors to share presentation materials and participate in live text chat discussions throughout the week.

AMENDMENT PROPOSAL TO THE EU CLIMATE LAW The European Commission has recently proposed an amendment to the EU Climate Law setting a 2040 EU climate target: a 90% reduction in net greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990 levels. Originally adopted in 2021, the EU Climate Law established the goal of climate neutrality by 2050. It also set a legally binding target of a 55% reduction by 2030 , and required that the EU set a further intermediary target for 2040.
