Gérard Mégie, born in 1946, holds a Ph.D. in science (1976). Professor at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie since 1988, he has been a member of the Institut Universitaire de France since 1998.

Further, his paper at the last EGU conference on the expansion of the ionosphere of Venus in tenuous solar wind was selected as a paper of special interest. Wei is a young researcher with outstanding abilities in the analysis of space science data, in combination with observations from a broad range of geophysical research areas, with a wide knowledge of new results in geology, geophysics and planetology.

The awarded poster presented results on the influence of the mineralogy on multidecadal carbon persistence in the bare fallow of Versailles (France), I showed that contrasted mineralogies at the fine scale (clay fraction, < 2µm) led to differences in carbon dynamics in terms of both carbon content and mechanism involved.
