Digitalk: online (geo)science communication

The webinar will cover tips and experiences of online geo science communication through different platforms, such as blogs and social media.

- “Talks about natural hazards: the EGU blog” by Giulia Roder. The talk will cover the basics of blogging including the tips to write an effective blog post. Giulia will illustrate the pros & cons of using the blog as a tool for science communication through her experience as an editor for the NH EGU blog. (12.35-12:45)

- “How to start vlogging? Just do it!” by Iris van Zelst. The talk will bring the audience into the vlogging world, from the preproduction, to the post production processes. Iris will share her path into vlogging about life in academia. Following her golden rules, everyone can become a vlogger. (12:45-12:55)

- “Science communication: a (failed) plan B to the publish or perish” by Roberto Guardo. Roberto is a volcanologist who developed a passion for science communication through social media. The talk will cover pros & cons of Youtube, Twitch, Instagram and other channels enriched with his personal experience. (12:55-01:05)
