Sisprobe has pioneered and continues to develop the world’s most innovative passive
seismic techniques. We’re the world’s leading provider of subsurface imaging and monitoring
using ambient seismic noise surface wave tomography (ANSWT), the most environmentally
friendly method of subsurface seismic imaging and monitoring.

Sisprobe acquires and processes passive seismic data for projects and clients worldwide
with recent projects in France (e.g. metro tunnel of the Grand Paris project), Netherlands,
Canada, and Australia. The method is used in several industries including petroleum, mining,
geothermal, geo-engineering, water resources, and geo-hazards.

Sisprobe is a dynamic startup located on the campus of Grenoble Alpes University, France.
The scientific committee of Sisprobe comprises world-renowned researchers at the forefront
of developments in the field of passive seismic imaging.

Job description

As a Scientific Software Developer, you will work closely with our data processing and R&D
teams, and would take responsibility for the software that we use routinely in data
processing: establishing a version control system like Git or SVN, organisation of the codes
and algorithms in routine use, recoding some parts in Python, work on a GUI, establishing
module tests, etc.

What we are looking for:
- Excellent programming skills in Python and Matlab (at least);
- Master degree in geophysics, seismology, mathematics, physics (PhD is an additional
advantage, although it is not required);
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- An advantage would be experience in surface waves tomography and inversion
(ideally ANSWT) and/or passive seismic data and processing.
The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in programming and software architecture,
be adaptable, a good communicator and detail oriented. We’re looking for someone who is
dedicated and who would be excited to join the Sisprobe adventure – addicted to innovation
and change.
