PhD student position in ecohydrology

We are looking for a PhD student for a project studying the effects of biodiversity on the forest water balance. This project involves field work and the PhD student will perform measurements of tree transpiration and rainfall interception in a common garden experiment. Knowledge acquired from field investigations will then be integrated within a hydrological model.
We are looking for a candidate with a Master’s degree in biology, environmental sciences, forestry, earth sciences or any related discipline. Excellent oral and written communication skills in French are essential.
The start date is January 2020. The student will receive a scholarship of 21 000 $ per year for three years to undertake this project. Funding is also available to participate to conferences and training workshops.
The student will be superviser by Professor Audrey Maheu and cosupervised by Professor Christian Messirer. The student will study at the Institut des sciences de la forêt tempérée at the Université du Québec en Outaouais.
