Boğaziçi University, Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute is a research Institute primarily focused on multi-disciplinary research of earthquakes, crustal deformation, tectonics and earth structure. Current organization of the Institute includes academic departments (Geodesy, Geophysics, Earthquake Engineering), research centers (Belbaşı Nuclear Tests Monitoring Center, Regional Earthquake-Tsunami Monitoring Center, İznik Earthquake Hazard Mitigation Center) and laboratories (Astronomy, Geomagnetism, Meteorology).

Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute of Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the fields of Remote Sensing. The candidate should have a PhD in Geomatics or Geodesy. The Institute encourages candidates with strong background and interest in tectonic deformation and earthquake induced building damage analysis using geodetic methods (GIS, GPS, Remote Sensing) and would consider applicants with good publication records in these topics.
Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute gives the highest priority to state-of-the-art research. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to research activities at graduate level, as well as certain service associated to the departmental affair (e.g. field-work participation, etc.). The successful candidate is expected to participate in teaching departmental courses (such as “Visualization in Geodesy” and “Management of GIS Projects”) and to design new advanced elective courses in Remote Sensing. All courses are taught in English and thus candidates are expected to have fluency in both spoken and written English.
