Research Associate in Geosensor Systems
Technische Universität Dresden
Geosciences Instrumentation and Data Systems (GI)
In the Department of Geosciences, the Junior Professorship in Geosensor Systems offers a position as a scientific staff member. You will support the Junior Professorship in Geosensor Systems in teaching and research, perform independent method-oriented research (with special emphasis on 4D environmental monitoring with geosensors), develop and supervise geosensors in the field, plan and execute UAV flights, process and evaluate multi-temporal geo-datasets (including machine learning methods), integrate spatiotemporally high-resolution data into hydrological and geomorphological process models and supervise exercises as well as seminars and student theses.
You are expected to hold a university degree in the field of geoinformatics, geodesy, environmental sciences, geography or comparable, to have experience with the acquisition and processing of 3D data (laser scanning, photogrammetry). Furthermore, you should have experience with low-cost sensor technology, experience in the analysis of geo-data in a programming language and experience with optimization algorithms or machine learning.
