Job description

The ‘Vienna International School of Earth and Space Sciences’ (VISESS) is soliciting applications for PhD positions within the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy at the University of Vienna. The school is currently announcing 2 PhD projects in the branches ‘Cosmos’ and ‘Earth’, among them a project in the field of meteorology (PhD project ‘Data-driven methods to reduce model errors in numerical weather prediction’). Requirements:
Astrophysics / Astronomy / Meteorology / Environmental Engineering / Physics / Mathematics / Environmental Sciences / Earth Sciences: Master’s Degree or equivalent (depending on project)
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team
Project-specific qualifications as described in the respective project description
