Job description

Ph.D. and postdoctoral positions at the earthquake physics group in the Earth and Environmental Sciences department, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Our group uses numerical simulations and laboratory experiments to study the effects of the complex structure of natural faults on the rupture process during earthquakes or aseismic deformation and explain key field observations. The research projects will include laboratory experiments with a unique experimental technique that combines ultra-high-speed photography with digital image correlation or numerical modeling with a self-developed finite element code. We welcome candidates with a background in Earth Science, Civil Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.

How to apply

Please email your CV, representative publications (for applications to the postdoctoral position), and contact information of two references to Dr. Yuval Tal (yuvtal@bgu.ac.il). Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
