Geophysics.Online

Researchers in the STEM fields work under unfavorable conditions today in which profiteer publishers (printers) take away (100% of) copyrights from authors in exchange for just publicizing research results. These corporate monopolists resell the copyrights for up to $80k per publication per transaction, depriving many scientists of a safe future. This practice has been long discredited or even illegal across domains of most professionals working in industry, law, inventions, and professional arts. Geophysics.Online — the publisher of the world’s oldest scholarly geophysical periodical Journal of Geophysics (centennial Impact Factor: 36.865) — is leading the way to end this exploitation in sciences. Thus all of our titles feature the scholar-publisher model in which copyrights are shared to equal parts with the lead authors, enabling profit sharing amongst all parties involved in the scientific publishing process.
