Geophysics.Online is looking for Editor-in-Chief (EiC) and Editorial Board (EB) members of GEODESY (2832-4773 print, 2832-4781 online). We are committed to focusing on a broad and diverse pool of candidates.
GEODESY is an Open Access, all-encompassing peer-reviewed classical scholarly journal publishing significant new research from all Earth and planetary geodesy fields. These fields cover but are not limited to theoretical geodesy. The journal thus publishes in 10 categories: geodetic applications, control, data, methods, software, and theory, as well as mathematical, physical, planetary, and space geodesy.
Editor-in-Chief enjoys academic freedom in the position, including the exclusive right to nominate members of the Editorial Board for appointment and discharge.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Ph.D. in geodesy/geodetic science or a closely related field,
- active scientific research experience in geodesy or a related field of minimum 5 years (10 years for EiC applicants),
- a record of English-language publications in peer-reviewed journals from categories of the journal.
Desired:
- journal editing experience at any responsibility level,
- 10+ years of research experience at any responsibility level (20+ years for EiC applicants),
- a substantial output in peer-reviewed journals from categories of the journal as the sole or lead author,
- a clear vision of the present and future directions for geodetic science,
- demonstrated multi-tasking abilities,
- supportiveness for diversity and inclusion in STEM,
- excellent command of the English language with highly developed communication skills.

EiC applicants: a brief vision statement no longer than one-half typical A4 page can be included (not required), outlining your viewpoints on innovation in peer review and the profile of the team of editors you plan to build.
