Meteorology Lecturer
The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Central Michigan University invites applications for a Full-Time, Fixed-Term faculty position in Meteorology beginning in August 2024. This appointment is for the 2024-2025 academic year, with a possibility of renewal. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses in atmospheric thermodynamics and dynamic meteorology, as well as survey-level courses in severe weather and climate change. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Potential for outstanding teaching. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences is housed in the College of Science and Engineering. We offer B.S. degrees in Meteorology, Environmental Science, and Geology and participate in an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Earth and Ecosystems Science. The expertise of EAS faculty members spans the Earth sciences, including meteorology, hydrology, environmental modeling, climatology, geophysics, and geochemistry. The meteorology program includes a 24-workstation instructional lab, a digital map wall, a radiosonde system, and a Campbell weather station with micro rain radar.
