Job description
We’re seeking a qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to our project on “The Evolution of Venus: Coronae, Subsurface Structure, and Volcano-Tectonics (HECATE)” at the University of Padova, Department of Geosciences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing numerical models of Venus’s subsurface evolution, with a specific focus on understanding the tectonic processes associated with coronae formation. Working closely with the DLR, Berlin, the researcher will analyze the magmatic history and present-day magmatic processes on Venus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce numerical models of Venus’s subsurface evolution
- Apply geodynamical thermal evolution models to analyze magmatic history
- Investigate the presence of volatiles in the Venusian subsurface
- Collaborate closely with the DLR, Berlin, to ensure the success of the project
Requirements:
- PhD in Geophysics or Geosciences or related field (or about to complete)
- Strong background in numerical modeling and geodynamics
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
