Job description

We’re seeking a skilled geoscientist to help drive mineral exploration efforts across underexplored regions of Africa. This role involves conducting multi-scale geoscientific studies to identify mineral potential and refine exploration targets, while also advancing our understanding of associated mineralization styles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and interpreting geoscientific datasets to evaluate exploration zones and prioritize areas with high potential.

In addition to core geological tasks, you’ll collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers, offering expert guidance on geological remote sensing to support the development of innovative mining solutions. You’ll also play a key role in planning, designing, and executing field programs, including ground data collection and geophysical surveys. Strong relationship-building skills are essential, as you’ll engage with government bodies, professional organizations, and partners to promote collaborative initiatives.

We’re looking for someone with deep technical knowledge of ore deposit types—experience with sediment-hosted stratiform copper or magmatic sulfide systems is a strong plus. You should have a solid grasp of the geological controls on mineralization and be able to integrate this knowledge into mineral deposit models. A background in analyzing and modeling geoscientific data, along with proficiency in GIS platforms like QGIS, is essential. We’re especially interested in candidates who are enthusiastic about applying satellite imagery and remote sensing to solve geological challenges.

The ideal candidate will have 3–7 years of experience in mineral exploration, a Bachelor’s degree in geology or a related field, and demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills. Our tech stack includes cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP; development tools like Python, Typescript, and Terraform; and containerization via Docker. We use PostgreSQL for databases and rely on GitHub, Jira, Slack, Notion, and Zoom for project management and communication. GIS tools can be tailored based on your preference.
