Are you ready to take the next step in your research career? We are offering an exciting opportunity for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team; working on a high-impact, government-funded research project through the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
This role has a strong focus on modelling and offers the chance to contribute to research that makes a real-world difference. You will be supported by experienced academic mentors and collaborate within a vibrant, forward-thinking research community. There may also be opportunities to share your expertise through teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
The salary for this position will be in the range of $90,125 to $107,452 per year, pro-rata, depending on the skills, experience, and knowledge you bring to the role. This is a full-time, fixed-term position (37.5 hours per week) based at the University of Waikato’s Tauranga campus, ideally commencing in September 2025. The role is offered for a period of two years based on project funding.

You will hold a PhD in a relevant field and bring an excellent research track record, with a strong publication history and an active programme of scholarship. Your expertise will align with the rock weathering project, underpinned by sound knowledge of geochemistry, soil science, and agriculture.
You’ll be a skilled communicator, able to collaborate effectively with both internal colleagues and external partners. Your ability to apply information and communication technologies to support your research will be essential.

The Division also has several research units, including the Environmental Research Institute and commercial/equipment units which embody staff and research activities.
