Are you a PhD holder in Physics, Computer Science, Environmental Engineering or Engineering with an insatiable curiosity for connecting with new people, communicating scientific concepts, and leading team initiatives? Do you have a passion for organizing engaging meetings, workshops, and conferences, and think you can help shape the future of science and society with your skills? If you are interested in a part-time role that provides great flexibility and if you are eager to work in the context of cutting-edge research on AI models for weather and climate, this might be the perfect job for you We are thrilled to invite you to the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), where we are building Europe`s first exascale computing system focus on a large-scale AI models. The JSC`s Earth System Data Exploration (ESDE) research group collaborates with numerous national and international institutions, as well as weather services, to create a pioneering AI foundation model for weather and climate predictions. This is achieved within the context of several BMFTR and EU-funded projects.

Your Job:

In this role, you will work alongside passionate scientists, project leaders and project managers to coordinate and manage funded research projects and share the success of ESDE`s research through social media, web pages, and other platforms. Your responsibilities will include:

Coordinating and managing funded research projects with project leaders
Communicating research results and achievements to a wider audience
Tracking project timelines, coordinating upcoming milestones, and deliverables
Organizing workshops, meetings, and conferences
Assisting in preparing project reports and proposals
Your Profile:

To be part of our dynamic team, you should have:

A Master`s degree in Physics, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or Engineering, preferred with a subsequent PhD
A curious and enthusiastic mindset, with excellent interpersonal and networking skills
Strong management and coordinating abilities
Pronounced editorial skills with a sense for aesthetics and design
Exceptional communication skills in English (and preferably German)
