Job description

A senior scientist position is now open in the Space Physics and Space Weather Section of the Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam, located in the Berlin/Brandenburg Metropolitan area, Germany. Applicants should hold a PhD in Space Physics or a related discipline and have an excellent publication track record and an excellent track record of scientific research and collaboration. 

The selected candidate is expected to carry out research in the field of numerical modeling or machine learning in Space Physics and lead an externally funded research group within the section. The initial appointment will be for two years with a high probability of extension. The candidate will be expected to apply for external funding during that time period. The candidate will also be expected to collaborate with members of the section and GFZ as well as help with supervision of students and teaching.
