National University of Singapore
Biogeosciences (BG)
Geosciences Instrumentation and Data Systems (GI)
About the Lab: Dr. Mengze Li’s lab at the National University of Singapore (NUS) studies atmospheric composition and carbon cycle using models, observations, and data science. Projects span urban air quality, biogenic and fire emissions, and national greenhouse gas budgets. We collaborate across Singapore and internationally. For details, please visit: https://discovery.nus.edu.sg/29567-mengze-li.
We are looking for highly motivated PhD candidates to study national and regional greenhouse gas (GHG: CO2, CH4, N2O) budgets using top-down or bottom-up models.
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in atmospheric science, environmental engineering, geoscience, data science, or related.
- Experience with at least one relevant top-down or bottom-up modeling tool (e.g., WRF, GEOS-Chem, LPJ, ORCHIDEE)
- Programming proficiency in Python/R/Fortran/Matlab
