We are excited to share a funded PhD opportunity at the University of Liverpool titled: “The carbon drain: quantifying carbon removal from peatlands and forests by rivers in the Peruvian Amazon”.
Working in some of the most spectacular landscapes of the Peruvian Amazon, the successful candidate will investigate how river dynamics influence the storage, erosion, and transport of carbon from peatlands and floodplain forests.
The project combines fieldwork with remote sensing, automated data analysis, and the application of machine learning techniques.
