The Center for Hydrogeology and Geothermics of the University of Neuchâtel (CHYN) is advertising a position of
Senior Lecturer/Research Scientist in the simulation of transport processes in porous and/or fractured media
Requirements
- Ph.D. in earth sciences, fluid mechanics or equivalent (obtained no more than 10 years ago).
- Expertise in numerical simulation applied to flow and transport processes in porous and/or fractured media (numerical methods, multiphysics).
- Solid teaching experience.
Teaching and Research Activities
- Teaching geosciences in our bachelor's degree programs and advanced courses in our master's degree program in hydrogeology and geothermal energy.
- (Co)Supervising Bachelor, Master and PhD students.
- Develop research activities in collaboration with CHYN and Faculty of Science research groups in one or more of the following areas: geothermal energy, heat storage, solute transport, reactive transport, geological CO₂ storage, or related topics.
- Actively participate in the life of the institute, the management of research infrastructure (particularly IT), and the development of teaching and research projects.
Starting date: 01.04.2026 or to be agreed upon.
Employment rate 75%
Contract duration: 4 years, renewable for 2 additional years
