We are looking for talented and self-motivated PhD students joining our group for the following positions.
PhD1: This student will examine how agricultural drainage affects the carbon cycling and greenhouse gas emissions in boreal peatlands.
PhD2: This student will study how vegetation dynamics and microbial dynamics are affected by climate change and human disturbances in boreal peatlands
PhD3: This student will develop a method to map peatlands/ponds and estimate/model peatland biomass and C storage in the province of NL and how they may be affected by projected climate change and human disturbance.
PhD4: This student will study how human activities and/or climate change may affect the heavy metal mobility in boreal peatlands in NL.
If you are interested, please send a letter of motivation/research statement, evidence of English Proficiency for international students, up-to-date curriculum vitae, unofficial transcripts, and a copy of any publication (if available) to Dr. Jianghua Wu at jianghuaw@mun.ca. Please use the following subject title: Drainage for PhD1, Microbial Dynamics for PhD2, Peatland Mapping for PhD3, and Heavy Metal for PhD4. Only the potentially eligible candidates will be contacted for further discussions.
