EGU Public Engagement Grants: 2025 winners announced 20 October 2025 The EGU Outreach Committee has named four Public Engagement Grant winners this year: a community air quality initiative in Ghana, an Earth-observation based educational card game for older adults in Italy, an educational animation about climate change for children in the UK and a low-cost water sensor initiative for farms and communities in the Philippines. 2025 call for EGU Geoscience Education Field Officers 30 September 2025 The EGU’s Education Committee is seeking to appoint volunteer Geoscience Education Field Officers to represent the EGU in countries across Europe. The major role of the field officers will be to provide professional development through interactive workshops for school teachers who have elements of geoscience in their teaching curriculum. The EGU Climate Hazard and Risk Task Force provide evidence for the EU’s proposed ‘European climate resilience and risk management initiative’. 5 September 2025 The European Union’s proposed 'European climate resilience and risk management initiative' aims to set out a comprehensive framework and plan for action to support EU countries, notably on preparedness and planning in the face of an increasingly complex landscape of climate-induced risk. In order to support this process, EGU's Climate Hazards and Risk Task Force has answered the call for evidence with seven key recommendations. Read more
