Majid Bastankhah is a Ph.D. student in WIRE laboratory at EPFL, Switzerland. His research mainly focusses on characterizing the interaction of atmospheric-boundary layer with wind turbines. In his EGU 2014 presentation, blade-element momentum theory (BEM) was used to investigate the behavior of yawed turbines in terms of unsteady loads, particularly the difference between positive and negative yaw angles.

A person from a lower-income country who is permanently working in a high-income country is not eligible for a EGU22 fee waiver. Documentation of the affiliation will be required.

Her research investigated the sedimentology of early vegetated environments in the Devonian, under the supervision of Dr. Martin Gibling. In her EGU 2011 poster, a facies analysis of a fossil-rich locality was used to provide a paleoenvironmental context for the plants, vertebrates and invertebrates occupying the ecosystem.
