Speakers: Entela Kane (TU Delft & Utrecht University) - how fluid chemistry influences strength, friction, and failure in carbonate reservoirs . Through Brazilian, UCS, and triaxial experiments combined with acoustic emission monitoring, Entela investigates what plays a stronger role in controlling rock stability: the interaction with injected fluids or the inherent heterogeneity of complex carbonate systems.

Home / Education / Educational resources / Can plants avert the climate crisis?
This is the principle behind biomass energy with carbon capture and storage, but how effective can it be in the real world? Dr Astley Hastings, from the University of Aberdeen, has been investigating. This brochure introduces Astley's work, offers an insight into careers in environmental science, contains an interview with Astley and includes an activity sheet that challenges students to explore how much of their country's energy comes from renewable sources.
