Home / News / Webinars and online events / How to write a research paper
Now it is time to write up! While scientific writing can seem daunting to early career scientists, publishing your results is a fundamental part of the research process and essential for communicating your findings to the scientific community. In this webinar our guest speaker, Ken Carslaw, co-Chief Executive Editor of the EGU journal Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, will outline the main elements of a research article and provide guidance on how to write clear, concise and logical articles.
Home / News / Webinars and online events / TS Campfire - TectoTalks: Topography, Uplift, and Deformation
Join the launch of TectoTalk, a new seminar-style series designed to showcase the current research within our community and promote discussion across the division. During each session, invited speakers will present their latest work and ideas in brief talks, followed by time for questions and constructive discussions.

Her research investigates carbon stocks and accumulation within seagrass meadows, saltmarshes, and shelf-sea sediments around the Isle of Man. In her poster presentation at EGU24 she demonstrated that saltmarshes have the greatest organic carbon density, whilst shelf-sea sediments have the most significant organic carbon stock due to their vast 500 km 2 area. These results can be used to prioritise areas for blue carbon management.

12 October 2020 The European Research Council ( ERC ) is a leading European funding body supporting frontier research, investigator-driven, across all fields of science. ERC calls are open to researchers around the world. The ERC offers various different outstanding funding opportunities with grants budgets of €1.5 to €3.5 million for individual scientists. Applicants of all nationalities are welcome for projects carried out at a host institution in Europe (European Union member states and associated countries).
Home / Policy / EGU science-policy events / Horizon Geoscience: overcoming societal challenges, creating change
These sparked a lively debate and highlighted issues that need to be addressed to tackle Europe’s societal challenges. Key points from the roundtable discussions included the importance of increasing public trust in both science and policymaking, the need for greater dialogue between the sectors, and the need to integrate early career scientists within industry, academia and policy. For an extensive summary of the dinner debate, please see the attachments below.

Giuliani’s research has helped improve our understanding and modelling of integrated water management, involving the coordination of multiple water sectors and demands when planning optimal water allocation and reservoir operations. His work has also addressed different ways to inform water reservoir operations by exploring emerging sources of knowledge (e.g., water smart metering, crowdsourcing and citizen observatories, weather and climate services, global climate teleconnections).
