Romain Delunel received his Ph.D. degree in June 2010 from the University of Grenoble (France). His main research interests deal with the Late-glacial ice retreat history in the Alps and the quantification of post-glacial denudation rates. During his Ph.D. he studied the recent relief evolution of the Ecrins-Pelvoux massif (French Western Alps) induced by Pleistocene / Holocene climate change using in-situ produced Terrestrial Cosmogenic Nuclide (TCN) measurements. His 2010 EGU poster presents new cosmic ray exposure ages (10Be and 26Al) obtained on different glacial features (i.e. roches moutonnées, erratics, nunataks) sampled within the Ecrins-Pelvoux, setting new constrains on the Pleistocene to Holocene deglaciation chronology in the western part of European Alps. The results thus evidence a contrasted east/west ice retreat pattern at the massif scale and highlight the significant effect of frost-shattering on the morphological evolution of the nunataks.
