Luca Bianchini Ciampoli is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Department of Engineering of the University of Roma Tre, Rome (Italy) since 2014. The major objective of his research is the development of new protocols and algorithms aimed at raising the efficiency of transportation assets maintenance, and based on the application of non-destructive testing (NDT) technique. Specifically, he is focusing on the assessment of the mechanical properties of road pavements and railway track-beds through the coupling of ground penetrating radar (GPR) to other NDTs.
