The 2022 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award is awarded to Mary Rose Mangan for the poster/PICO entitled:

Evaporation Controlled by Boundary Layer Feedbacks in an Irrigated Semi-Arid Environment: a LIAISE Modeling and Data Study (Mangan, M. R.; Hartogensis, O.; Vila, J.)

Mary Rose Mangan is a PhD candidate from the Meteorology and Air Quality Group at Wageningen University. Her research is focused on impact of thermal surface heterogeneity on atmospheric boundary-layer dynamics and surface fluxes. In her EGU 2022 presentation, she introduces a scaling scheme to describe the heterogeneities from the 2021 LIAISE experimental campaign. This scheme is also used to describe how the drivers of evaporation change at different spatial scales in heterogenous areas.
