The 2022 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award is awarded to Rhander Taufner for the poster/PICO entitled:

Diopside microfabric development in lower-crust oceanic detachment fault zones (Taufner, R.; Trepmann, C.; Viegas, G.)

Rhander Taufner is a PhD candidate at the University of Brasília, Brazil, working on strain localization processes in the ductile, lower ocean crust to assess the rheological behavior of rocks during exhumation of ocean core complexes at (ultra)slow mid-ocean ridges.
The awarded OSPP presentation focused on the microfabrics recorded in diopside crystals associated with high-temperature shear zone from the Atlantis Bank ocean core complex to assess the microstructural evolution of diopside during uplift of lower crustal gabbroic rocks through detachment fault zones.
