Following a resolution that was made by EGU’s volunteer Council, the current EGU President has been dismissed after a large majority vote, according to EGU statute 8.7. Following EGU statute 8.6 the elected Vice-President, Peter van der Beek will now assume the role of President. A Vice-President, Marian Holness, has been appointed by the Council to serve until a new Vice-President is elected and inaugurated at the General Assembly 2026.
