Solid Earth indexed by Thomson Reuters

16 October 2012

The EGU open access journal Solid Earth is now indexed in Thomson Reuters (ISI) Web of Knowledge and will soon be listed in Science Citation Index Expanded and in Journal Citation Reports. The EGU is grateful to Copernicus Publications and Solid Earth editors for their invaluable contribution to this achievement, as well as the scientific community for submitting their top research to this and other EGU journals.

Thomson Reuters recognised Solid Earth as an authoritative and high-standard source of information after assessing the quality, number, and characteristics of the papers published in the journal since its first publication in February 2010. The indexing means Thomson Reuters will consider the journal in its yearly Impact Factor calculations; Solid Earth’s first Impact Factor will be announced in June 2013.

With Solid Earth, 12 of EGU’s 14 open access publications are now indexed (11 have Impact Factors). Earth System Dynamics, launched in late 2010, and Geoscientific Instrumentation, Methods and Data Systems, launched earlier this year, are the only EGU journals still awaiting assessment by Thomson Reuters.
