University geoscience teachers: Apply now for an EGU higher education teaching grant

19 February 2020

The European Geosciences Union (EGU) invites applications for the Union’s new programme of grants designed to fund the preparation of higher education (university-level) geoscience teaching packages. These grants, of up to 750 EUR, can be on any geoscience topic, including laboratory and field work.

These teaching packages, which must be self-contained and copyright-free, will be advertised and made available online. The contents will be fully attributed to the authors and freely available for download. The teaching packages must be accompanied by all necessary digital or video resources and data, background information, student worksheets, and a reading list.

Teaching packages must be original and can be written in any languages(s) but must include a full version in English. Applications are welcome from any country. Teaching packages will ideally have been either trialled or co-authored with university students prior to submission.

The application deadline is 1 June 2020. Successful applicants will be informed by 15 June 2020. The final teaching packages must be submitted by 1 April 2021. Completed packages will be subject to review and editing and then made available as part of EGU’s initiative to bring innovative teaching materials to university-level geoscience teachers across the world.
