The 2023 Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Award is awarded to Amelia Bond for the poster/PICO entitled:

Snowpack nitrate photolysis drives the summertime atmospheric nitrous acid (HONO) budget in coastal Antarctica (Bond, A.; Frey, M.; Kaiser, J.; Squires, F.; Jones, A.; Kleffmann, J.)

Amelia Bond is a PhD candidate in at the British Antarctic Survey and the University of East Anglia, UK. Her research is in atmospheric chemistry and is focussed on reactive nitrogen species in snow covered areas. Specifically, her project involves understanding the link between snowpack nitrate and the release of nitrous acid (HONO) to the atmosphere above through both fieldwork and lab-based experiments. Amelia’s PICO presentation summarised the findings of her fieldwork, a HONO measurement campaign in coastal Antarctica.
