Speakers: Entela Kane (TU Delft & Utrecht University) - how fluid chemistry influences strength, friction, and failure in carbonate reservoirs . Through Brazilian, UCS, and triaxial experiments combined with acoustic emission monitoring, Entela investigates what plays a stronger role in controlling rock stability: the interaction with injected fluids or the inherent heterogeneity of complex carbonate systems.
Home / Membership / Eligibility, fees & application
Eligibility & fees Regular membership is open to individuals who subscribe to the objectives of the EGU and who are professionally engaged in or associated with either the geosciences, planetary and space sciences, or related studies. Those applying for student or retired senior (emeritus) membership must provide proof of their student status or that they are aged 60 or older and retired from full-time employment, respectively.
Home / Awards & medals / Outstanding Student and PhD candidate Presentation (OSPP) Awards / 2022 / Patrick Barth
For the EGU General Assembly 2022, Patrick presented his recent experimental results on nitrogen fixation by lightning on the early Earth. Comparing the isotopic composition of the fixed nitrogen products in the experiment to the sedimentary rock record allowed to investigate lightning contributions of nutrients for the earliest forms of life.
