EGU creates new Emergency Support policy, to provide assistance to any researcher globally affected by disaster, crisis or conflict. 29 October 2025 Following a vote by EGU’s volunteer Council, the EGU has adopted a new comprehensive emergency support policy that will provide greater access to all EGU's scientific tools, resources and opportunities to any researcher in the Earth, planetary and spaces sciences, anywhere in the world, who is impacted by disaster, crisis or conflict. Register now for the EGU26 Peer Support programme! 28 October 2025 Applications are now open for experienced attendees to apply to be a part of the EGU26 Peer Support programme. The Peer Support programme, formerly called the mentoring scheme, helps experienced attendees of the General Assembly to facilitate novice attendees in getting the most out of their experience during the week of the meeting. EGU Public Engagement Grants: 2025 winners announced 20 October 2025 The EGU Outreach Committee has named four Public Engagement Grant winners this year: a community air quality initiative in Ghana, an Earth-observation based educational card game for older adults in Italy, an educational animation about climate change for children in the UK and a low-cost water sensor initiative for farms and communities in the Philippines.
